Welcome to
Outline Theatre

Formed in 1988, Outline is a community theatre company based at St Matthew's Church, Yiewsley, Middlesex.

Outline Theatre is open to all ages, from eight to eighty, and we are actively looking to recruit new members.

This summer, following on from our successful winter tour of 'The Nativity', we will be performing the children's classic, Philippa Pearce's 'Tom's Midnight Garden' at St Matthew's Church Yiewsley and Black Park Country Park.

Tom's Midnight Garden:

Outline captures the magic of this award winning children's classic by Philippa Pearce, brilliantly adapted for stage by David Wood.

When Tom is sent to stay at his aunt and uncles’s house for the summer, he resigns himself to endless weeks of boredom. As he lies awake in his bed he listens to the grandfather clock chiming in the hall downstairs. Eleven......Twelve......Thirteen...... Thirteen! Tom races down the stairs and finds, outside the back door, a wonderful garden. A garden everyone told him didn’t exist. Tom’s midnight garden is full of magic and adventure, and children too. Are they ghosts? Or is it Tom who is really the ghost……..?

About Outline: Outline is a flourishing community theatre company. Our aim is to stage high quality productions of both modern and classic theatre with an emphasis on theatre for young people.

Outline is committed to provide live, affordable theatre for local people and to tour its production work to the wider community.

Members are taught a wide range of theatre skills through work within an all age theatre ensemble. We actively promote professional standards in all aspects of the company's work.

Outline holds regular workshops with professional tutors on performance skills such as stage combat, period dance and circus skills. There are also opportunities to learn about stage design, backstage skills, costume, sound and lighting.

Our aim is to create a welcoming, family atmosphere where all can enjoy a complete theatre experience. If you would like to become part of Outline why not come along on a Tuesday, 7.30pm, St. Matthew's Church, Yiewsley and find out more about us.
